The redevelopment of the office building on Staalmeesterslaan as a 450-room hotel and a campus for the Hotelschool Den Haag was the biggest transformation of the decade in Amsterdam.
Following the departure of Getronics, this building was divided in two and transformed: from offices to a hotel with 450 guest rooms and on Jan Evertsenstraat a hotel school of 13,000 m².
Internally, the hotel school has a unique dynamic. Besides the regular classrooms there is a student campus where first-year students can stay, a restaurant, hotel rooms for teaching purposes, etc.
Peak managed the project, from initiative to handover, including the ground lease conversion, zoning plan changes, designs, tenders with all contractors and subcontractors, prefab procurement, stakeholder management with local residents, and supervising the transactions with the hotel school and the hotel.
