Peak Development made all the difference in the acquisition process for the Citroën garages. During the exclusivity phase we adopted a position concerning the ground lease that appeared illogical, but ultimately was confirmed by the municipality. As a result, we developed many more square metres of office space with only a very limited rise in the ground rent. A superb example of why parties such as Bouwinvest Real Estate Investors collaborate with Peak Development.
Thanks to the involvement of Peak Development, Bouwinvest purchased this project. Our ingenious position concerning the ground lease allowed us to come up with something truly distinctive. We did this based on thorough research, taking advantage of our good contacts with the municipality.
In collaboration with our partners, we transformed the historic garage into a multifunctional office building. We completely renovated the building, extended it with an extra top floor and roof terrace of 800 m2 (according to a design by Rijnboutt Architects) and kept the original, characteristic elements such as the ramp. We also signed up all the lessees, including Under Armour, Deloitte, Colliers, Parcom and Bacardi.
Following the acquisition, we took care of the place branding, by opening the building for temporary restaurants and a range of art events. At the moment the ground floor is home to the highly successful restaurant NENI.
