Once a neglected office building in Amsterdam. Now the pearl of the city. We’re talking about Huidekoper. Peak Development bought it, stripped the building and extended it, after which it was successfully sold to Black Rock. Also thanks to cooperation with Bierman Henket Architecten, Huidekoper is now an integral part of the residential character of the neighbourhood again.

The purchase of this neglected building, hemmed in between Pieter Pauwstraat and Huidekoperstraat, was quite a find in itself. The residential character of the streets made for a complex inner-city assignment. Together with Bierman Henket Architecten and the Municipality of Amsterdam, we arrived at a design which everyone is extremely happy with. The building is now fully let and meets the requirements of the investor, users and local residents.

Pearl of the city

In collaboration with Bridges Real Estate, we stripped the Huidekoper building down to the concrete shell. We added a floor, extended the building (from 4,000m² to 5,000m²) and swapped the parking area for office space. All this has transformed this ugly duckling into the pearl of the city.

Big art and free breakfast

The redevelopment took two years, during which we generated interest in the building with ‘big art’: temporary exhibitions. At the same time we treated the local residents to a free breakfast from Vlaamsch Broodhuys. It turned this redevelopment into a proper party!
